Through her meteoritic rise to stardom, her recent Glastonbury performance in 2022 showed the vulnerabilities that artists often face as they're sky-rocketed up the bill as she nervously made her way through the show, much with the crowd's emotional support. But now, with an album in circulation, and a plethora of shows under her belt, the English singer-songwriter from Grantham returned to Bristol with a whole new poise. </p><p>Taking the stage with an air of quiet confidence, as the lights dimmed and a giant cobweb lit up, embellished with her name, Humberstone captivated
the audience from the moment she stepped into the spotlight. As cheers filled the room to the sounds of her debut album's title track ‘<i>Paint My Bedroom Black</i>’. There was no time to catch your breath though as she quickly launched in to the punchy <i>"Into your Room"</i> as it carried forth the pace with her earnest vocals and dazzling production values that truly came to life in the live environment. </p><p>With each song, expertly arranged and performed, with intricate melodies
and dynamic shifts that kept the audience on the edge of their seats, her sound has transcended from its soft beginnings in to a towering pop powerhouse of energy.
From delicate acoustic numbers to powerful crescendos, Humberstone and
her band showcased their versatility and musicianship throughout.</p><p>Highlights of the evening included performances of fan favourites such as
"<i>Vanilla</i>" and "<i>Falling Asleep at the Wheel</i>," as well as a captivating
rendition of <i>"Dive" </i>from her recently released '<i>Work in Progress</i>' EP. However, it was during the
stripped-back moments that Humberstone truly shone, with a solo
performance of <i>"Deep End"</i> that allowed her raw talent and vulnerability to take centre stage.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW4ZzKGT4grIIQ_uLx9bXgu9iksCfcgPz317WVX69KSVGzEvW9rKvbiRgsHEdopGBAvjh_ZMJ0bURlLa2Kta0FluW_ADf-EykR05QmoyOfAdcpgSm0zhKm7MEIkmGqolVaytz9c4FdO-oKLziwrBfeB7lXpnFLAGhjukOUchXg4sOZvHbXmD7pzN9Xnjo/s3340/IMG_9026%202.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2194" data-original-width="3340" height="420" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW4ZzKGT4grIIQ_uLx9bXgu9iksCfcgPz317WVX69KSVGzEvW9rKvbiRgsHEdopGBAvjh_ZMJ0bURlLa2Kta0FluW_ADf-EykR05QmoyOfAdcpgSm0zhKm7MEIkmGqolVaytz9c4FdO-oKLziwrBfeB7lXpnFLAGhjukOUchXg4sOZvHbXmD7pzN9Xnjo/w640-h420/IMG_9026%202.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p><br />With her soul-stirring vocals, heartfelt songwriting, and magnetic stage presence, the night was always going to be an intense affair but nothing could have quite prepared me for what unfolded. From her gut wrenching lyrics detailing heartbreak, loss and coming of age, all in its painstaking relatability, to the stimulating chord changes and kaleidoscopic soundscapes, no stone was left unturned as the crowd became awash with emotion. </p><p></p><p>And as the band returned for their two track encore consisting of <i>Friendly Fire</i> and <i>Scarlet</i>, there was no doubt the evening would end with a bang as the crowd became whipped in to a frenzy as flailing hands that formed heart-shaped symbols punctuated the air. A beautiful sentiment for an evening well spent amongst the emotionally charged, raw bedroom pop that has so seamlessly transposed to these large room venues in effortless fashion. Showing no signs of slowing her trajectory, the only question left now is, where next? </p><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6_aSQ9G1WPo" title="Holly Humberstone - Elvis Impersonators (Official Video)" width="640"></iframe><p style="text-align: center;">*****<br /></p>Scientists of Soundhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10229335827728101651noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491559146674851070.post-55383593795018838092024-03-14T23:09:00.001+00:002024-03-14T23:09:06.202+00:00Pem - Awe<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhY3Qw8-lUmrhm7OHossLbmcmz1IYpy9ttOYNslQ5E9fqfJ1jS9IkZkRv2Ze8yiGpwNhcxpwpwZuIspGLgQvEFDppluqaQdUPfm2KDYgmF2Rajr5vI4n7sRZNgeb8O3VGhyphenhyphen1DgI5IPx2WHQWdnevRapoUdD-KLT-wVG8VgB_odII4HmVqtkFVZ2_GZqkq8/s7198/EBERT_Pem_Cloud%20Work_highres%2009.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4798" data-original-width="7198" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhY3Qw8-lUmrhm7OHossLbmcmz1IYpy9ttOYNslQ5E9fqfJ1jS9IkZkRv2Ze8yiGpwNhcxpwpwZuIspGLgQvEFDppluqaQdUPfm2KDYgmF2Rajr5vI4n7sRZNgeb8O3VGhyphenhyphen1DgI5IPx2WHQWdnevRapoUdD-KLT-wVG8VgB_odII4HmVqtkFVZ2_GZqkq8/w640-h426/EBERT_Pem_Cloud%20Work_highres%2009.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr align="right"><td class="tr-caption"><span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica neue,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 10px;"><span style="line-height: 16px;">Photo credit: Sandra Ebert <br /></span></span></span></span></td></tr></tbody></table><p>Returning with her latest effort, Bristol-based <b>Pem</b> has today shared the gorgeous and moving new single <i>Awe</i>. Written through a deeply personal exploration of loss, yearning, and the complexities of grief, the track's softly swirling guitar notes and grounded chords echo a sense of time standing still, all the while life continues to rush around you. It's a hauntingly beautiful art form that exudes her songwriting talents in fine detail, serving as another wonderful introduction to her music. Speaking about the track, <b>Pem</b> remarks: "<i>I wrote ‘awe’ a few weeks after my Dad died. I rushed my grieving and threw myself into a new city to build a new life. Everything felt surreal and unfamiliar, I struggled to relate to my new relationships. I was yearning for closeness but was so terrified of more loss that I felt stuck on loop, like I was moving constantly but never getting closer. That’s why the chords are so simple and repetitive. I was trying to stay still but I just couldn’t shake the sense that I was supposed to be somewhere else. For me ‘awe’ illustrates the tension between a fear of letting go, a fear of gripping on and a fear of staying still.</i>" Take a listen for yourselves below. <br /></p><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DouovFvEuRE" title="Pem - awe (Official Music Video)" width="640"></iframe><p><i><u>Pem's Live Dates</u></i><br /> 16th March | London, UK – Village Underground – Supporting Febueder<br /> 19th March | Manchester, UK – YES (Basement) – Supporting Febueder<br /> 21st March | Oxford, UK – Jericho Tavern – Supporting Febueder<br /> 22nd March | Birmingham, UK – Hare & Hounds – Supporting Febueder<br /> 23rd March | Bristol, UK – Ritual Union – Supporting Febueder<br /> 27th March | London, UK – Sebright Arms – Supporting Mylar <br /> 14th June | London, UK – The Lexington<br /> 30th June | Bristol, UK – Bristol Sounds Festival <br /><br />i: <a href="https://www.instagram.com/pemperry">https://www.instagram.com/pemperry</a><br /></p>Scientists of Soundhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10229335827728101651noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491559146674851070.post-52972544277449470452024-03-14T20:52:00.003+00:002024-03-14T20:52:49.085+00:00Friedberg - Hello<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvKgXFU_Mo1jy21798R3UEX0DjjPvY6SyVLUCi1uBAaLKku1Ah8IIG4ub25ZYntVEbWbTCjxlgZ3iLxBTR0tEjgDBRygGxRSip7hxTZZHCwuLbHvZxIJqLxa6pD0OfoRzXXs21bxkRSL97o6XZTlboFyKL-wiRZyrxDq6pQeUTvHOZ-d86dlex4QnCaQA/s2048/image4.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvKgXFU_Mo1jy21798R3UEX0DjjPvY6SyVLUCi1uBAaLKku1Ah8IIG4ub25ZYntVEbWbTCjxlgZ3iLxBTR0tEjgDBRygGxRSip7hxTZZHCwuLbHvZxIJqLxa6pD0OfoRzXXs21bxkRSL97o6XZTlboFyKL-wiRZyrxDq6pQeUTvHOZ-d86dlex4QnCaQA/w640-h640/image4.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr align="right"><td class="tr-caption"><span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Roboto,sans-serif; font-size: 9pt; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline;">Artwork: Lewis Vorn</span></td></tr></tbody></table><iframe allow="autoplay" frameborder="no" height="166" scrolling="no" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/1765042521&color=%239fb6b4&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true" width="100%"></iframe><div style="color: #cccccc; font-family: Interstate, Lucida Grande, Lucida Sans Unicode, Lucida Sans, Garuda, Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; font-weight: 100; line-break: anywhere; overflow: hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis; white-space: nowrap; word-break: normal;"><a href="https://soundcloud.com/friedbergmusic" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank" title="Friedberg">Friedberg</a> · <a href="https://soundcloud.com/friedbergmusic/hello" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank" title="Hello">Hello</a></div><p>Returning today, <a href="https://www.sos-music.co.uk/2021/03/friedberg-yeah.html"><b>Friedberg</b></a> have shared their brand new music video for their latest energetic single ‘<i>Hello</i>’, directed by Talia Beale. Lifted from their debut album, due for release later this year, the track's tribal percussion and funky melodies hurtle at lightening speed towards its explosive guitar finale. Anna, lead singer of Friedberg, says “<i>I already fell in love with Talia’s initial idea of me reciting the lyrics of the song whilst my head is stuck in a wall. Over a good cup of cappuccino we instantly bonded over the idea of a leaf blower blowing the band's hair while we are performing the song. I loved everything else we came up with that day – like taping the band to the wall. When I wrote the song I imagined spending the night in a stranger’s mind and thinking all of these things that I never thought... Saying all of these things that I never said. And get a holiday from my own mind. So the concept of the video just worked perfectly for the song.</i>” Talia Beale, adds “<i>This project's been a dream to work on! Anna’s an artist who takes the risk of thinking outside of the box and pushing creative boundaries. It’s provided a playground to explore our most surreal ideas, the ones maybe we often try to dull down by attaching too much rational thought to in the name of commercialism.</i>” Take a watch for yourselves below. <br /></p><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/O9OU5qfBEV8" title="Friedberg - Hello (Official Music Video)" width="640"></iframe><p>f: <a href="https://www.facebook.com/FriedbergMusic/"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">https://www.facebook.com/FriedbergMusic/</span></a></p>Scientists of Soundhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10229335827728101651noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491559146674851070.post-475625528891431212024-03-13T22:46:00.000+00:002024-03-13T22:46:42.336+00:00néomí - someone new<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiVfet6j4zN_3RO5S5sY_c5-2It-ynzFTtUMsfttvcnsc7l77Df5R7Qqq1R10ShA7ZCS5GyiByOSzYbb7NO6wfX6XzaJT_1qtB2nwvh_dCYwp03gAXNQYqD6SCdnP8IOsVeuWXSL4wLnGkR7VC0225YMyHFRwhK1DgqqDjZy_ukX26K53sam-3QhOEurg/s500/neomi%20Pack%20shot%20(500).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="500" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiVfet6j4zN_3RO5S5sY_c5-2It-ynzFTtUMsfttvcnsc7l77Df5R7Qqq1R10ShA7ZCS5GyiByOSzYbb7NO6wfX6XzaJT_1qtB2nwvh_dCYwp03gAXNQYqD6SCdnP8IOsVeuWXSL4wLnGkR7VC0225YMyHFRwhK1DgqqDjZy_ukX26K53sam-3QhOEurg/w640-h640/neomi%20Pack%20shot%20(500).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p>Returning last week, <b><span style="color: #0b5394;"><a href="https://www.sos-music.co.uk/2023/10/neomi-your-girl.html">Néomí</a></span></b> has unveiled the emotively tinged, <i>someone new</i>. Taken from her long-awaited debut album <i>'somebody's daughter</i>', set for release on May 3rd via [PIAS], the track's tender approach to songwriting delivers on all accounts as swirling synth melodies melt in to her angelic vocals and infectious pop nuances. Speaking about "someone new", she said, "'<i>someone new' is basically a love letter to my therapist. How, at first, I hated the fact I was put in a category which I thought I didn't belong to. Since those first encounters things have changed. I am grateful I've learned so much about myself and life in general. Most importantly Ive learned how to deal with other people and, in the process of everything, become 'someone new' who is taking responsibility for their own actions and owning them. It was a relief to understand it's never only 'you' in the story as a story is, almost always, double sided. I'm sure we all experience something like this in our time on this odd planet. It's a song about not wanting to open up because to work on yourself requires going through pain which is the hardest thing in life. But I understand now working on improving yourself, no matter how painful it can be to remember the past, is the most important job there is.</i>" Take a listen below. <br /></p><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/e5kLevdg8n0" title="someone new (official video)" width="640"></iframe><p>f: <span style="color: #3d85c6;"><a href="https://www.facebook.com/neomismusic">https://www.facebook.com/neomismusic</a></span></p>Scientists of Soundhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10229335827728101651noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491559146674851070.post-75653796373637108032024-03-13T21:44:00.003+00:002024-03-13T21:44:56.014+00:00Gustaf - Close<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXGNn9TLMXiYvA_H0g_E_ahyc9oAW8eatPmCm-toixWoONmJRW29KA-Ve6Chn4YfCnJgKpHrUOd2QgFU9NIAuaVW5B44NKI9r6N90Nuh0a9vn6UIOJbuDp9H3_uwxUJQsNVBwfMgb654oMs-a0Ci_ukoh5wRYjZCzZoaPjqsNMgG6mtlS4gQr6qhU08wI/s1600/image001.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1073" data-original-width="1600" height="430" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXGNn9TLMXiYvA_H0g_E_ahyc9oAW8eatPmCm-toixWoONmJRW29KA-Ve6Chn4YfCnJgKpHrUOd2QgFU9NIAuaVW5B44NKI9r6N90Nuh0a9vn6UIOJbuDp9H3_uwxUJQsNVBwfMgb654oMs-a0Ci_ukoh5wRYjZCzZoaPjqsNMgG6mtlS4gQr6qhU08wI/w640-h430/image001.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr align="right"><td class="tr-caption"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">Photo Credit: Erica Snyder </span></td></tr></tbody></table><p>Brooklyn's <b><a href="https://www.sos-music.co.uk/2024/02/gustaf-here-hair-hard-hair-official.html">Gustaf</a></b> have today returned with their energetic new single <i>Close</i>. On the themes behind the track - Tom O’Reilly explains: “<i>It’s a story that spans from adolescence, into early adulthood and eventually into being middle aged. It’s about coming to terms with not making a dent in life socially or culturally, making peace with normality and accepting that you’ll eventually fade away to be forgotten, but enjoying the ride nonetheless. Complacently enjoying life and living in the moment to a degree that potentially has a negative effect on the future.</i>” Take a listen for yourselves below. </p><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gn926lhhE0U" title="Eades - Fade Away (Official Video)" width="640"></iframe><p>f: <a href="https://www.facebook.com/eadesmusic/"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">https://www.facebook.com/eadesmusic/</span></a></p><p><br /></p>Scientists of Soundhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10229335827728101651noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491559146674851070.post-41595903402178945542024-03-12T17:43:00.001+00:002024-03-12T17:45:48.729+00:00Divorce - Gears<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTKBlHpG8JzYnD_gQHVSzlZaruxkzVnEx6-cHImYQTb14Qnjnxg_f2sFad2nqkYXVkBPnf9q_AUegDtiP5dnOqiruWXvHQGID8vI2MvRVI59mQxdxNYaQF-4jVKywtZ2Fjv1O_qK65NMZ6BUe_v-5OAbELCQFpkaBDkWNSBhnXfWuOZ3xSP6DYXc9oyR4/s3821/Divorce%20landscape%202024.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2951" data-original-width="3821" height="494" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTKBlHpG8JzYnD_gQHVSzlZaruxkzVnEx6-cHImYQTb14Qnjnxg_f2sFad2nqkYXVkBPnf9q_AUegDtiP5dnOqiruWXvHQGID8vI2MvRVI59mQxdxNYaQF-4jVKywtZ2Fjv1O_qK65NMZ6BUe_v-5OAbELCQFpkaBDkWNSBhnXfWuOZ3xSP6DYXc9oyR4/w640-h494/Divorce%20landscape%202024.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p>Making their ambitious return with their first new music of the year, Nottingham's <span style="color: #3d85c6;"><b><a href="https://www.sos-music.co.uk/2023/11/divorce-release-heady-metal-ep.html">Divorce</a></b></span> are pleased to unveil <i>Gears, </i>a storming 2 minute 30 second pop effort that solidifies them as one of the most exciting new band's to break through in recent times. Written about the entanglement of a fading love, the tracks soft palpable soundscapes and swirling synth melodies offer up an exiting taste for the year ahead. Speaking about the track in more detail she goes on to say, "‘<i>Not Quite Over You’ is a song about heartache for a relationship gone wrong; when you love someone irrevocably but the feeling is unrequited. Now the partner has moved on to someone else but you can’t understand what they have that you couldn’t provide, and you can’t for the life of you get over it. Inspired by the sounds of Fleetwood Mac, drawing similarities particularly in the chorus vocal harmonies, the song is also evocative of boygenius, Phoebe Bridges and Shura, with a vocal tone reminiscent of La Roux</i>." And more often than not when you're least looking for it. <b>Cristina Hart</b> recently returned with her tender new song <i>Before You</i> which effortlessly captures this feeling as she tells the take of unconditional love. Speaking on the story behind the making of ‘Before You’, Cristina Hart shares; ‘<i>Growing up with parents that aren’t together is always a bit hard to wrap your head around as a kid. There’s always this secret hope that one day they’ll get back together until one day you realize that that’s never going to happen. I think it’s easy to think you’ve done something wrong to cause this as a child and that can really impact how you view relationships as an adult. I’m so lucky to have found someone that’s shown me what this kind love looks like and I wanted to write this as a little diary entry to show that despite what’s happened in your past, you are deserving of love and, if you find the right person, you can still have and nurture a healthy relationship.</i>’ Take a listen below. <br /></p><p><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/xxlJ-wRQGBM" title="Cristina Hart - Before You (Official Audio)" width="640"></iframe> </p><p>i: <a href="https://www.instagram.com/iamcristinahart/">https://www.instagram.com/iamcristinahart/</a><br /></p>Scientists of Soundhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10229335827728101651noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491559146674851070.post-5773666308475148802024-03-11T17:40:00.003+00:002024-03-11T17:40:37.023+00:00charlieeeee, Ellie Dixon - BUMPED IN THE HEAD<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5D_L_6zDdu9vKg9F_ErxpZ-_1Rd1YB9q-Sc1cdrjjZ2OLPQ4NlE8zgdhrKNrvwP5rwSBTOAtS7DDPDja76GJB-P6k-1pDM9xqVOUMSq4A8zKQixFznla_TKmN-6MdvEWZjsCb5ZDQrgXBT8t3tLTxFmu9KVn2Sohb0MB-tspDXAqQx3x5EliyYrIZn4k/s1600/image002.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1199" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5D_L_6zDdu9vKg9F_ErxpZ-_1Rd1YB9q-Sc1cdrjjZ2OLPQ4NlE8zgdhrKNrvwP5rwSBTOAtS7DDPDja76GJB-P6k-1pDM9xqVOUMSq4A8zKQixFznla_TKmN-6MdvEWZjsCb5ZDQrgXBT8t3tLTxFmu9KVn2Sohb0MB-tspDXAqQx3x5EliyYrIZn4k/w640-h480/image002.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr align="right"><td class="tr-caption"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">credit: Plastic Fruit Studios</span></td></tr></tbody></table><p>Having worked behind the scenes as an award-winning producer, engineer, songwriter and creative director, <b>charlieeeee</b> has already collaborated with the likes of RAYE, Fred again.., MNEK, piri & tommy and venbee, to name a few. Filled with rich guitar melodies and the tale of a journey through the trials and tribulations of life, the track serves as another exciting tease of what's to come. Speaking about the track in more detail the pair go on to say "<i>Cape Forestier is about a boat on a journey. I suppose it speaks to the journey we're all on in our lives—the comings and goings of love, loss, pain, and moving towards new horizons. We spent a lot of our childhood on and in the water. Elements of nature are lyrically and mythically important in our writing. The ebb and flow of tides, the changing cycles—nature so often helps us to understand our inner world. This is a very personal song to us, so we’ve chosen to share some unseen footage in the music video from the start of our time together making music in the living room at home to where we are now.</i>" Take a watch of the official video below made from unseen footage from when Angus and Julia first started making music together. </p><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/GZ8IaJ6Se2E" title="Angus & Julia Stone - Cape Forestier (Official Music Video)" width="640"></iframe><p>Cape Forestier - Track listing<br />1. Speaking about the new single the band share "<i>Head Underwater captures that night where you totally let go of your inhibitions. The atmosphere takes control of you and you’re living out your more rebellious alter ego that's laid dormant in your waking life, drinking and partying till late and perhaps getting up to certain things that you may well regret the next morning</i>." Culminating towards an explosive finale, the tracks soft <span><span data-dobid="hdw">arpeggiated synth led intro steadily builds with towering pop sensibilities as lead singer Lewys confronts the raw reality of a flawed relationship they had long intuited. Of the single, Lewys said “<i>Towards the end of that year (2020), I ended up revisiting it after a pretty nasty breakup - we were constantly back and forth, never sure on where we both stood, and deep down, knew things weren’t working. Lyrics I had written over a year ago at this point suddenly made so much more sense.I wanted to create a sense of restraint and control throughout the song, and I suppose that’s why there’s no traditional ‘chorus’ or hook. Each build up is quickly snatched away in favour of a quiet, intimate bridge section, before the climax at the very end acts as a huge outpouring of pent up energy and emotion.</i>” Take a listen for yourselves below. </span></span></p><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/i11bVU1csJ8" title="WRKHOUSE - Snow (Official Video)" width="640"></iframe><br /><br />LIVE DATES <br /><span style="font-family: courier;">BANGOR 02/04, Rascals <br />LIVERPOOL 03/04, EBGB’s <br />LEEDS 04/04, Hyde Park Book Club <br /> MANCHESTER 07/04, 33 Oldham st <br />LONDON 09/04, The Grace <br />NEWPORT 10/04, Le Pub <br />CARDIFF 12/04, Porter’s</span><p><span><span data-dobid="hdw">i: <a href="https://www.instagram.com/wrkhousewrkhouse">https://www.instagram.com/wrkhousewrkhouse<br /></a></span></span></p>Scientists of Soundhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10229335827728101651noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491559146674851070.post-77411824961698531922024-03-06T16:40:00.001+00:002024-03-06T16:40:10.122+00:00King Hannah - Big Swimmer<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDGQBB8gFGvhttqATB7FnAyNUzQnU5hy3IHhwUslXDQ00lTeNs3kHeJBjY-mSJYy-lQGvBmtFN3Oo9CID2m9tnkNuNpiyvfB3ipxqzPgTXdc8y3T4by6FincSHJlvKGDJwU3lFfZ2AdOHxc7xa187utfV3FVxJVKqJaHU0j2yUOS6bdYp4UIaM6p3bElU/s939/image001.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="746" data-original-width="939" height="508" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDGQBB8gFGvhttqATB7FnAyNUzQnU5hy3IHhwUslXDQ00lTeNs3kHeJBjY-mSJYy-lQGvBmtFN3Oo9CID2m9tnkNuNpiyvfB3ipxqzPgTXdc8y3T4by6FincSHJlvKGDJwU3lFfZ2AdOHxc7xa187utfV3FVxJVKqJaHU0j2yUOS6bdYp4UIaM6p3bElU/w640-h508/image001.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr align="right"><td class="tr-caption"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">Credit Katie Silvester</span></td></tr></tbody></table><p>Liverpool duo <b>King Hannah</b> (Hannah Merrick and Craig Whittle) have today announced <i>Big Swimmer</i>, the pair's new album, due for release on 31st May via City Slang. Coinciding with the announcement they have unveiled its title track featuring special guest vocals from Sharon Van Etten, who the band connected with when Van Etten posted about their debut single ‘Crème Brûlée’. Vocalist Hannah Merrick has to say on the song – “<i>I remember sitting at my desk and the song just came pouring out and the big swimmer metaphor instantly felt right; to never give up on whatever it is you’re swimming hard towards. But I like that it questions the listener too, that whenever you’re faced with something challenging, do you carry on swimming or do you jump out and grab our towel? There’s no right answer, but it feels empowering and necessary for the record.</i>” The band have also announced a run of UK and EU shows for September 2024. Tickets will be available <a href="https://www.kinghannah.com/tour" rel="nofollow">here</a> and go on sale Friday 8th March at 10am local time. Expecting nothing short of spectacular, the single gives a true introspective insight in to his experimental world as plinky synth notes carry its disjointed percussion and chiming flute sounds across a rich soundscape of intricate melodies. The track is taken from his debut album '<i>supershapes volume 1</i>' which is out 14th June via Moshi Moshi Records, and is the first in a series that explore “the miraculous in the mundane”. Of the song's inspiration, Mike Lindsay said: "<i>It's about the magic of creating something in the kitchen whilst listening to the radio. It’s a zen like feeling and extremely cathartic whilst also being creative. The Alchemy of blending ingredients to create something greater than the sum of its parts. The salad has personality.</i>" Take a listen for yourselves below. <br /></p><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/klNLQPMVeYs" title="Mike Lindsay - kachumber (Official Music Video)" width="640"></iframe><p>Live Dates<br />

On the new single, <b>Porij</b> say: "<i>These lyrics came from a poem I wrote in November. It was fairly bleak, but in essence was all about missing the simplicity of my early life but craving the complexity of the life that could come. In that period of time everything felt quite up and down and I didn’t really know how I was going to feel from one day to the next.</i>" Sharing further insight on the single's kaleidoscopic accompanying video, director Maxi McLachlan comments: "<i>It’s weird to say my main point of reference was video game character building menus, but that’s where it started! The point was to try and create a video where Egg is constantly rotating but their clothes transform until it becomes so extreme that they warp into other band members. When we first discussed the video we knew we wanted it to reflect the chaotic but very carefully produced track. I wanted to create the feeling that Porij becomes so unpredictable that not even the machines can handle it and the whole thing shatters.</i>" Take a watch/listen to the danceable number for yourselves below. </p><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/SZfNx_AGD90" title="Porij - Unpredictable (Official Video)" width="640"></iframe><p><span style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 12px;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica neue,helvetica,sans-serif;"><strong><u>Tour Dates</u></strong></span></span></span><br />

The UK run will include their biggest ever headline show, at London’s Eventim Apollo. While writing the first batch of songs for the album, frontman Leo
Wyndham’s partner suffered a late miscarriage which naturally saw the
record become an open diary of a year-long struggle from devastation to
deliverance. “<i>It was incredibly hard to comprehend what had happened, how to deal with it and how to move forward,</i>” Leo says. “<i>The
album is the journey of that experience - starting with a loss, then a
period of processing, and then finally acceptance, release and growth.
And being in awe of women within that. Their dignity, strength and
courage in how they can deal with these things that feel beyond a man.</i>” The full list of tour dates can be found below. <br /><br /><iframe allow="autoplay" frameborder="no" height="166" scrolling="no" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/1719621555&color=%239fb6b4&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true" width="100%"></iframe></p><div style="color: #cccccc; font-family: Interstate, Lucida Grande, Lucida Sans Unicode, Lucida Sans, Garuda, Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; font-weight: 100; line-break: anywhere; overflow: hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis; white-space: nowrap; word-break: normal;"><a href="https://soundcloud.com/palaceband" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank" title="Palace">Palace</a> · <a href="https://soundcloud.com/palaceband/bleach" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank" title="Bleach">Bleach</a></div><br />November UK Dates<br /><span style="font-family: courier;">Thu 21st GLASGOW, SWG3 Galvanizers<br /> Fri 22nd LEEDS, Project House<br /> Sat 23rd MANCHESTER, Albert Hall<br /> Wed 27th BRISTOL, O2 Academy<br /> Fri 29th BIRMINGHAM, Birmingham Town Hall<br /> Sat 30th LONDON, Eventim Apollo</span><p></p><p>f: <span style="color: #3d85c6;"><a href="https://www.facebook.com/wearepalace/" rel="nofollow">https://www.facebook.com/wearepalace/</a></span></p><p></p><p></p>Scientists of Soundhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10229335827728101651noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491559146674851070.post-48169158326670834132024-03-04T22:08:00.000+00:002024-03-04T22:08:01.649+00:00Gabby Martin - Cologne <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn_FeAIVm5VsBMB_JoF69koSO3mEIFJAz1QY2qyROmEiucQWt3QqpM24ZyLW_XroFggnT3Fs1-tKFJbHQMOVNCxBgGINy0yL9wN1ElKv2NnZXz7OEDtdQw_nyFwdowkGemoFTW5qcneHjtdwq9KFpTjdJTV70jw2wH8rMSYSLiSaDt-mXTqShbm7pw85I/s6000/Cologne%20Artwork.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="6000" data-original-width="6000" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn_FeAIVm5VsBMB_JoF69koSO3mEIFJAz1QY2qyROmEiucQWt3QqpM24ZyLW_XroFggnT3Fs1-tKFJbHQMOVNCxBgGINy0yL9wN1ElKv2NnZXz7OEDtdQw_nyFwdowkGemoFTW5qcneHjtdwq9KFpTjdJTV70jw2wH8rMSYSLiSaDt-mXTqShbm7pw85I/w640-h640/Cologne%20Artwork.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr align="right"><td class="tr-caption"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">Photo artwork: <span id="m_8057546985668091661gmail-docs-internal-guid-38042a57-7fff-83f2-a969-e5b039557ad0"><span face="Roboto, sans-serif" style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline;"> </span></span>Louisa Wilkie</span></td></tr></tbody></table><p>British singer-songwriter <b>Gabby Martin</b> returned ahead of the weekend with her sensational new single <i>Cologne</i>. Written about those moments where you're instantly transported to a particular memory following the fleeting smell of someone or something, the track's towering pop sensibilities and powerful delivery captures her songwriting prowess in fine detail. Talking about the track, Gabby admits, “<i>You know when you hear a specific song and it reminds you of an exact time in your life, or you smell someone’s fabric conditioner and it instantly reminds you of a childhood friend? That. Cologne refers to something that comes back to you again and again, reminding you of what you once had and perhaps what you still want. Somehow, without trying, you’re thinking about them again and wondering if for just one night you could forget it all. I voice noted the pre-chorus in the bathroom at about 2am in December, I then took it into the studio in Limehouse and we turned it into a painfully sad, annoyingly catchy indie pop track with an epic 90s head-banging ending. And <b>NewDad</b> certainly weren't ones to disappoint. Playing to a sold out Bristol crowd, the Galway natives were in town in celebration of their recently released new album <i>Madra</i>. And with every day a learning day, I was soon to discover its namesake translated to Dog, with the band persuading the whole crowd to bark en masse with their best 'woof' impression. Just your average night at a <b>NewDad</b> concert. <br /></p><p>As the cheers finally settled the band kicked off and seamlessly melted in to <i>"Angel"</i>, their album opener which steadily set the mood with its grungy guitars and hazy atmospheres, all coupled with their ever despondent lyrics, "<i>You can swim around, But I don't want you to drown inside me, It's nor fair to be your responsibility</i>".</p><p>This remained a theme throughout as<i> "Dream of Me" </i>delivered its powered chords and harsh lyrics doused in longing and self regret, all before its pulsating guitar riffs and punchy basslines echoed through the room. On record the band offer up a shoegaze aesthetic but live it's a completely different beast as their scuzzy melodies are met with potent percussion and towering pop sensibilities that gripped the audience and threw them in to a head down, bodily swaying trance. </p><p>With the band's blend of shimmering guitars, dextrous vocals, and driving rhythms, lead singer Julie Dawson's haunting vocals effortlessly soared above the mix, drawing listeners into each heartfelt vocal cry. Her stage presence remained magnetic, as she meandered across the stage, inviting the crowd to join her on a journey through their emotionally-charged soundscapes. </p><p>Highlights of the set included fan favourites "<i>Blue</i>" and "<i>I Don't Recognise You"</i>, not least to mention a blistering cover of The Cure's "<i>Just Like Heaven</i>," each delivered with an intensity and passion that left a lasting impression. The band's ability to effortlessly transition between introspective ballads and infectious indie rock anthems kept the audience on their toes as they continuously switched up the pace, evidently so as Fiachra Parslow and Dawson returned from the encore to perform "<i>White Ribbons</i>" stripped back to its bare bones, the crowd perfectly silent, as they nodded in unison. </p><p>It was clear that <b>NewDad</b> had left an indelible mark on everyone in attendance. Their raw talent, energy, and genuine passion for their craft shone through in each touching moment of the night, showcased by their immense musicianship and charming charisma. With their star on the rise, this is a band destined for great things and I implore anyone to not pass up the opportunity to catch them on the trajectory, don't hesitate – you won't be left empty handed.</p><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/g0GMsuQ8Nac" title="NewDad - Nightmares (Official Video)" width="640"></iframe><p style="text-align: center;">*****<br /></p>Scientists of Soundhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10229335827728101651noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491559146674851070.post-66181451848663997862024-03-01T18:54:00.000+00:002024-03-01T18:54:00.772+00:00Dylan Gossett - Somewhere Between<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfIkR3hNig7RurLydpg56W1mFDdByPJVtTVwTAvXi4cu1uISUbBg4nP0XBon8Or5NxBtmSJPbPJ9_9xeUfwhCEf2rCAKyzec77re9JmFxaeESzn2DMz7vRAaE-cdpeeIUlQ0_js8V4sxhSC3gEu7nRnBfcHm46AFufpJ_mZBiNMgoT0oicRKwFLEWdBds/s833/Screenshot%202024-03-01%20at%2018.48.40.png" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="577" data-original-width="833" height="444" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfIkR3hNig7RurLydpg56W1mFDdByPJVtTVwTAvXi4cu1uISUbBg4nP0XBon8Or5NxBtmSJPbPJ9_9xeUfwhCEf2rCAKyzec77re9JmFxaeESzn2DMz7vRAaE-cdpeeIUlQ0_js8V4sxhSC3gEu7nRnBfcHm46AFufpJ_mZBiNMgoT0oicRKwFLEWdBds/w640-h444/Screenshot%202024-03-01%20at%2018.48.40.png" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr align="right"><td class="tr-caption"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">Credit - William Basnett</span></td></tr></tbody></table><p>With country music really taking off in the UK over recent months thanks to a new resurgence, one name leading the pack is 24-year-old Texas based artist <b>Dylan Gossett</b>. Following a mammoth support tour for Noah Kahan in Australia, he returns today with his brand new single <i>Somewhere Between</i> taken from the forthcoming new EP Songs In The Gravel, out March 22nd via EMI. On the new song, he says, “<i>I wrote ‘Somewhere Between’ after watching a video about a man who spent his life living on a train. I was struck by his story and his true independence — I wanted to create my own version of his story. The resulting song is a high-energy narrative about a wandering man, running away from his past, travelling state-to-state; each night finding a new home</i>.” Take a listen for yourselves below. </p><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vlt7mJO2TRI" title="Dylan Gossett - Somewhere Between (Official Lyric Video)" width="640"></iframe><p>i: <span style="color: #3d85c6;"><a href="https://www.instagram.com/dylangossett/">https://www.instagram.com/dylangossett/</a></span><br /></p>Scientists of Soundhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10229335827728101651noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491559146674851070.post-55022160383009148242024-03-01T11:23:00.002+00:002024-03-01T11:23:54.135+00:00Green Man 2024 - Big Thief, Sampha, Jon Hopkins and Sleaford Mods announced to headline<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKNRhIKEeRZnymx2vJRnG-oU4iFfWUApysULyaS9IAWiqviHDHVFVrHFFX5AANKrE2KUGLKF-UxrjueIMvZHX4y9qRSE6FA-uh23yQVdcN0HhrbHkplyarYrCyKGSGF4eFUmX8Do41DZHGIDLFv0k67zePUvL_GYY4GvuNC7mtQP-5Jvcx0rDG6jGY-XQ/s2048/Untitled.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1366" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKNRhIKEeRZnymx2vJRnG-oU4iFfWUApysULyaS9IAWiqviHDHVFVrHFFX5AANKrE2KUGLKF-UxrjueIMvZHX4y9qRSE6FA-uh23yQVdcN0HhrbHkplyarYrCyKGSGF4eFUmX8Do41DZHGIDLFv0k67zePUvL_GYY4GvuNC7mtQP-5Jvcx0rDG6jGY-XQ/w640-h426/Untitled.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr align="right"><td class="tr-caption"><span style="font-size: 12px;">Photo credit: Nici Eberl</span></td></tr></tbody></table><p>St David's day brings extra special treats this year with <a href="https://www.sos-music.co.uk/2018/01/green-man-festival-2018-first.html"><span style="color: #0b5394;"><b>Green Man</b></span></a> making their much anticipated 2024 Line Up announcement.
