This week sees Michael Gallagher return with his exhilarating new single Wonderstruck. Written shortly after his move to Manchester, the track pays homage to the city’s iconic musical influences while maintaining Gallagher’s fresh, relatable storytelling through his catchy lyrics and smooth delivery. “I had not long moved to Manchester when I wrote this and was listening to a lot of Stone Roses, The Smiths and other iconic Manchester bands (embracing the culture). I feel you can hear the influence of those iconic jangly indie guitar bands all over this track,” says Gallagher. “I am really looking forward to getting out and trialling this on my upcoming November tour along with the other tracks I have released this year as well as some new unreleased tunes.” Speaking further on the track, Michael shares: “It is a no nonsense pop song about being infatuated with someone that there couldn’t possibly be anyone else (ever). It also touches on embracing all parts of love, the good and the bad.” Take a listen for yourselves below.
