With her second EP ‘Every Woman’ set to arrive April 17th via Gravity/Capitol Records, Fiona-Lee has today shared the emotive Not My Friends. Exploring the quiet vulnerabilities of loneliness, the track pairs towering pop sensibilities with gripping vocals to deliver a pristine slice of pop that brings a sense of warmth and comfort to darker moments. Explaining in more detail, Fiona-Lee shares: “Not My Friends is about trying to fill an emotional void at any cost to avoid feeling alone. It came from a time when I was investing in the wrong relationships with the wrong people and accepting less than I deserved because of the “something is better than nothing” mindset. That fear of loneliness can be a hard cycle to break, even when you’re fully aware of it. At its heart, Not My Friends is about self-awareness, recognising misplaced attachments, and having self compassion for when you fall back into those habits.” Take a listen for yourselves below.
