Favela | Gong

I was determined as hell not to post anything here until the new year. I'm sure no one will begrudge me for fancying a little break. It really does feels like it's been forever though since I wrote about any music, I'm not even sure if I still know how to. At least we've not all been as lazy as myself, and this is something I really can't not share. Impressing from early on with his Easy Yolk EP, Leeds-based producer Favela returns once more with equal splendour. Picking up exactly where he left of the Yorkshire residing artist indulges us once more in his wonderful disconsolate vocals, all coupled with its floating percussion and weightless airy synths. Add in some angelic harp-strummed melodies and an emotionally taut mid section and you're on to a pretty safe winner in my books. Take a listen to Gong above.
