BABYRAT - Roses

Cork based four-piece BABYRAT have today unveiled their blistering first offering, Roses. Growing their reputation on the live circuit, which has already seen them share a stage with Jack White in Ireland, the band bring things together for a scintillating debut. Capturing their sharp guitar work and soaring synth melodies, the track leads with the band’s punk power-pop sound, showcasing them at their most immediate. On the new single, the band say - "Roses is about love turning to spite in a coming-of-age setting. The reason it's the opening song in every set is the same reason why it is our first release, it's the perfect introduction to us and sets the tone for what we are and what's to come.” Take a listen below.

total tommy - Tailgate

Today sees total tommy today share new single 'Tailgate', taken from the upcoming album Trapezoid which will be released October 23rd on Play It Again Sam. Here, scuzzy guitars and rattling basslines propel another empowered pop hit, giving us a further glimpse of what’s to come from the LP. On the new single, Tailgate, total tommy shares - "A couple of years ago, I jumped in an Uber on the way to a wedding, and the driver told me she was a psychic. She then proceeded to 'read' me, glaring at me in the back seat from the rearview, telling me all of these crazy things that would happen to my family. Complete unsolicited advice. I left feeling so spun out and violated. All of the things she said sometimes still come into my mind to this day, but this song makes me feel like I’ve taken some of that power back from her" Take a listen below.

Approaching the recording with the emotional intensity of a teen drama, Flora wanted the track to hit just as hard as her previous release. According to Flora, “I wanted it to sound like a plot I would see in a teen drama.” Take a listen for yourselves below. The End follows on from the recent success of 2025's ‘The Ghost is Me,’ which featured in Amazon Prime hit show Off Campus.

Following on from his debut solo single 'Dora, Jack Kaye is back with his second offering in the form of The Weight. Taken from the newly announced EP Go Easy, set for release August 14th on Fascination Street Records, the track highlights his perfected pop brilliance, pairing bold songwriting with an insatiable delivery. On the new single, Jack Kaye says - "There were lots of big life changes that happened for me around the same time. The end of the band kind of signalled that, and the wave of real, adult life knocked me back a bit. It’s about coming to terms with the responsibility of real life; earning a living outside of the band, starting a family… I was also thinking about my Dad, and the ways I want to be like him as a parent, and the things I’d like to do differently. So that’s in there as well" Take a listen below.

Sebastian Schub - “kiss of life. (you’re kinda magical)”

Credit: Una Burnand

Sebastian Schub has returned with his first new music of the year sharing the insatiably catchy new single “kiss of life. (you’re kinda magical)”. Opening an exciting new chapter, the track's fun melodies and infectious choruses offer a thrilling glimpse of what's to come. Explaining further, he says, “kiss of life is definitely the most fun I’ve ever had making a record. It’s everything overflowing all at once. On the surface it’s a song about falling in love, but really, it’s an ode to my friends and the people around me - it's about the joy and gratitude I feel whenever I’m with them. Two of them unexpectedly became parents recently and it really ended up shaping the heart of the song. In the end I just had to get them all to perform on the record - including the baby. It’s definitely the most fun I’ve ever had on a song.” Take a listen below.

total tommy - Winona Forever

Following on from last month's single Pretty Little Mouth, Australia based artist total tommy has today unveiled the joyful new effort, Winona Forever. Written about home, identity and connection, the track's punchy melodies and buzzing choruses give another exciting glimpse in to what lays ahead this year. On the new single, total tommy shares - "There’s a picture of Winona Ryder that I’d seen where she’s on a bike outside a block of high rise buildings, and the imagery of that inspired me so much of how small we all are in the expanse of a city. How it’s easy to lose your identity when you’re not surrounded by the people who really know you, and how we subconsciously shape shift to fit our environments." Take a listen below.

Phoebe Green - There’s Always Someone Kicking The Seat

Ahead of the weekend, Phoebe Green returned with her scintillating new single, There’s Always Someone Kicking The Seat - taken from the new album PREMATURE NOSTALGIA, released 2nd October via The Green Dream Machine / Absolute. Opening with spoken-word observations, the track gradually gives way to its shimmering synth-pop textures and swirling electronics before a wave of emotion washes over. Speaking on the new single release, Phoebe shared: "We wanted this song to feel extremely visceral, as though the listener is experiencing the story firsthand; it was written in a similar way to ‘Reinvent’ lyrically where I just wanted to get an experience off my chest and melodically nothing fit, so I ended up just talking. It’s maybe my only proper break-up song, and Lucy really beautifully encapsulated the chaotic emotional journey sonically. It felt really fitting for the verses to feel quite matter of fact, recounting events, then melancholic choruses followed by a cathartic outro." Take a listen below.

Quiet Houses - made for love

Edinburgh-raised, London-based indie-pop duo Quiet Houses today release their debut album we're all in love via AWAL, alongside new single 'made for love'. Led by swirling vocals and chiming guitars, the track emerges as one of the album’s defining moments, chronicling the frustrations of modern dating and the pursuit of real connection, as the band explain: “A lot of our friends are struggling to find romance. They’re looking for community and connection, but finding dull hinge dates and poor communication. Endless choice and fragmented society in cities can leave people feeling isolated and blaming themselves. When writing 'made for love' we wanted to show that if everyone feels like they can’t find love, it’s probably the fault of tech companies and a rise in the sales of DJ equipment. If all else fails, come to a Quiet Houses show, you will meet the love of your life, possibly.” Listen below.

néomí - Close

Following recent singles “Didn’t I” and “Catch You”, Dutch-Surinamese singer- songwriter néomí returns with details of her forthcoming EP ‘Crunchy, Sad and Strangely Happy’, arriving September 18th via Nettwerk. The news comes accompanied by her latest single Close, a track that depicts the addictive nature of unhealhty love. “Close is a song that is actually very much about an unhealthy form of love,” néomí explains. “The push and pull relationship where you don’t want to be together but also don’t want to let go. It is about desperately holding on, going back and forth with each other’s emotions. Think about avoidant/anxious attachment styles, bound to be together. Love can feel like a drug when it is felt like that, as if you can’t live without each other so that’s the reason why you have to stay close. “I’d advise you to let go instead of holding on but, love is a powerful thing, and the heart wants what it wants I suppose… luckily we have songwriting to cope with that haha. I hope, but also don’t hope you connect to the song.” Take a listen below.

Blossoms announce new album 'Songs From The Wedding Cake' + UK Arena Tour

Following the release of April's single Joke About Divorce, and this week's latest offering, Meet Me In LoveBlossoms have excitedly announced the details of their forthcoming sixth studio album, Songs From The Wedding Cake. Deriving its name from 'The Wedding Cake', the nickname for Stockport’s Town Hall where band member Tom Ogden got married, the LP was recorded to tape at Tilehouse Studios and produced by Shawn Lee, set to be released 2nd October 2026, and is available to pre-order now. You can take a listen to their latest single below along with a teaser video for the band's upcoming Arena tour dates where they'll be joined by The Royston Club. Speaking about the latest single, Tom says: ‘“Meet Me In Love” was written on a songwriting trip to the Lake District with Natalie Findlay and Jules Apollinaire. As often happens, it was the last day and we’d pretty much accepted that there probably weren’t any more songs left to write. We started messing around with a simple two chord disco groove and, within a couple of hours, the whole thing seemed to fall into place. It’s one of those songs that felt exciting from the moment it arrived. I remember driving home from the Lakes listening to the demo on repeat for most of the journey. We later finished the recording with Shawn Lee at Tilehouse Studios, tracking live to tape, but a lot of what made us fall in love with the song in the first place came from that original demo, so plenty of those parts survived onto the final record.’

Charlotte OC - Start of Summer

Blackburn-born artist Charlotte OC has returned this week with her shimmering new single Start of Summer. Written amid a period of transition and grief, the track sees its emotional weight swell through expansive pop production and a commanding vocal delivery. "This song is about the ever-present longing I have for my father," Charlotte explains. "He absolutely loved being in the sun and being as tanned as humanly possible. Whenever I picture him, he's in the garden, covered in factor 15, with a glass of whiskey by his feet and a border collie by his side. I wanted the song to carry a sense of optimism, because that's how he always was when summer was around the corner, knowing that tan would soon be his again. It felt important to hold onto that lightness alongside everything else. It's about not knowing what to do with all the love you still have for someone. Not knowing how to handle grief, and finding yourself replaying conversations that will forever feel unfinished." Take a listen below.
