Ready to kick-start your Monday with some adrenaline induced euphoria, long time blog favourites Honours return with their fresh new single, Bulletproof. First appearing on our pages way back in October last year, the then relatively unknown London based trio have gone on to execute their sound to an almost impossible level of perfection, previous track's August and its endearingly fragile b-side Blue Light only going to show just how vastly diverse their talents can be. Naturally formulating desirable splashes of multi-genre sounds through soulful drones of electronic haze, Honours have set a fine example for retaining an organic and energetic mindset. Constantly progressing over changing tempos and explosive percussive hits, Bulletproof follows in suit, truly blossoming in to an infectious array of what all indie-electronic music should epitomise. Not to take anything away from the band's previous work (because let's face it, it's all pretty damn flawless) but having honed their skills in recent months, it goes without saying this latest effort is undeniably their strongest to date. Even though summer's still yet to get in to full swing, there's a definite chill in the air. I've already learnt the hard way having left the house without a jumper one evening last week (hey kids, listen to your mum when she says it's gonna be cold). With the nights drawing in and the shadow of darkness lingering in the mornings, it's important to make the most of what we have right now and Glacier Pacific's latest single is the perfect soundtrack in doing just so as we cling to the remaining days of our infamous British Summertime. With breezy overtones and cascading guitars crashing upon its blistering foundations, Canyons demonstrates an apt skill in portraying the beautifully chilled with a candescent charm. Whilst still much in their infancy stage the Leeds based four-piece have been hard at work for quite some time now, crafting their sound in to the music we hear today and this just goes to show how well it pays off. Quite frankly we're honoured to have the first exclusive play of their brand new video to accompany their debut single, and much like you'd expect, perfectly encapsulates everything they're about making excellent use of the lighting as it illuminates the wooded backdrop. When searching for something, sometimes all you need to find is yourself; is the message we get, and to be brutally honest, what's more life affirming than that! Check it out above.

Anyone who's remotely followed the blog over recent months will know just how much of an advocate I am for London's Escapists, and as the band prepare for the release of their debut record, 'Only Bodies', things are really hotting up. Set for release August 4th I'm honoured to be premiering album track Phantom Limb, playing true to their bright and breezy melodic shifts in gorgeous style. Encapsulating everything there is to love about British guitar bands the track's soulful swelling builds with a fluctuating energy, reaching breaking point there's not much else to do except combust unleashing razor sharp guitars and lighetning fast percussion. No strangers to euphoric choruses running side by side intracate rhythmic patterns the band have shown time and time again why they're on top of their game, this only solidifying any preconceptions I had for them. Have a listen above. Lead singer Simon Glancy had the following to say on the record.

"The title [Only Bodies] comes from that odd connection I have with death and how my head is often torn between the scientific and the spiritual. The past and the future too, which is often an issue for me. There's a theme throughout of outgrowing the idea of yourself and those around you and not really knowing what's coming ahead. Musically it's everything that we wanted in an album, pulling from all of our influences to create something completely diverse that would sit on the shelf alongside those bands that made us fall in love with music.

It's the most collaborative we've ever been.  Working with James [Kenosha (Pulled Apart By Horses, Dry The River, Rhodes)] was amazing as we had such a clear vision of how we wanted it to sound and how fast we wanted to work. He was so fast that we could get away with only a few takes to keep it feeling fresh but with an amazing production quality and attention to detail"

As the bitter cold winds of winter finally set in Hilang Child goes all out creating his fiery heart-melting warmth once more. As the release date draws ever nearer for his debut 'First Writings' EP on November 25th Ed Riman returns with another strikingly raw and painstakingly beautiful track. As it unfolds leading you to unfathomable depths At Rhossili showcases a stark and sombre affair as Ed's crystalline vocals glisten and illuminate over the ghostly and haunting piano, encasing you in all of its sagacity.

Completely self-produced at home with the help of friends Tom Roach and Fernando Heftye it's not hard to feel the intimacy within as much of the recordings are from the realisation of images and landscapes envisioned, rather than specific emotions. With Rhossili being a place close to my heart having grown up only a stones throw away this latest release proves to be another home hitting, achingly stirring effort.
