Following on from L.Y.A.T.T., London-based, Wrexham-raised Art School Girlfriend has announced her third studio album 'Lean In', released via Fiction Records on 11th March 2026. This week sees the expansive and deeply meditative new single The Peaks showcase a further insight in to what lays ahead on the LP. Speaking further on the track, Mackey adds: “During the making of this album, there was a period of time when everything around me felt fragile — the things worth living for came into focus with a kind of hyperreal clarity. It’s a beautiful but health anxiety-inducing thing to realise: how lucky we are to be here. The lyrics are desperate and widescreen: “I want to give you the peaks, don’t slip, hold me.” The production and arrangement are designed to overwhelm, with peaks and troughs, offering moments of deep calm amidst the waves of relentless beats and stuttering synths.” Take a listen below.

Belfast post-punk/electronic outfit Chalk have this week shared their electrifying new single Can't Feel It, following its BBC 6 Music Huw Stephens premiere last night. The single follows on from their release in August, Pain,with dazzling synth lines and explosive choruses. Speaking ahead of its release, Cullen explained: “We wanted to write a dance track that celebrated the ups and downs of youth. It’s about a secret first kiss I had with a friend when I was younger, and reminiscing on the euphoria of that — but also the excitement of keeping something hidden from everyone around me, which in the end led to feelings of solitude and alienation.” Detailing the accompanying visuals, the band explained: “‘Can’t Feel It’ is a song about sensuality, yearning, and desire. I wanted to set this story in a medieval world of courtly love and rivalry, merging mythic imagery with modern elements like smartphones and earpods. Speaking on the track, Polly Mackey says: “L.Y.A.T.T. is about the resilience of love through times of physical or mental distance and hardship. An unfaltering and unwavering declaration for the times when life may be taking its toll. Following on from last month's single Ascension, Manchester-based duo Nightbus have returned with their latest effort Angles Mortz. Rich in dazzling 80's synth textures and pulsating electronics, the track gives another tantalising taste of what's to come on the forthcoming album Passenger, released 10th October on Melodic. On the track Olive says: "Angles Mortz explores the theme of shame depicted through sex. ‘Can I meet you in another life’ suggests that our shame is completely perceptive and could be something that’s embraced in an alternate reality. Following on from their debut album 'Teething', released in 2024, Porij have returned with their tantalising new single I'm Your Lover (Only). Driven by a funky piano line, the track’s buoyant melodies and sun-kissed energy make it the perfect soundtrack for the warm weather gracing our shores. On the new single, Egg says:"This song’s about accidentally falling in love. You can’t always pick when it happens and this is about leaning in, going with the flow and enjoying it for what it is without overthinking" On the sun-drenched and ludicrously fun video, filmed recently in Ibiza, the band say -"Jacob came up with the original piano and drum hook for the chorus and called it Beefa on a Soundcloud demo so for the video we thought it would be rude not to go on a spontaneous 48-hour trip to Ibiza, where we filmed in a quiet villa tucked away in the north of the island, followed by a little bit of partying in Amnesia for Bicep Boiler room, which was slightly less quiet ;). Conception inspiration definitely came from a ‘Kevin & Perry’ vibe - think heading off on your first holiday with mates and all the antics that come with it. Manchester-based duo Nightbus have returned with their brand new single Ascension - the first to be taken from their forthcoming debut album Passenger, released 10th October on Melodic. Driven by surging electronic beats and hypnotic melodies, the track’s shadowy pop sensibility emerges in vivid detail. Hazy vocals and atmospheric soundscapes offer a nuanced, dreamlike glimpse into what’s to come. “We’re travellers in our own bodies; there’s an alter-ego nurturing our secrets, fantasies, shame, and fears, lost in the underworld of humanity. A dreamscape of tabu existence, things that define us but wouldn’t come up in casual conversations. This album is that traveller, the passenger,” Olive Rees reveals, who, alongside partner-in-crime Jake Cottier, is Nightbus. “This self-destructive side can be triggered at any moment, and you’ll experience life in a completely different light. Georgia has returned this week with her first new music in two-years as the singer-songwriter reveals a true pop-perfected bop. Talking about the track, Georgia says: “I wrote this song at a complete crossroads in my life, which is why I stuck with the 160bpm! It's a fast tempo punk-electro song, inspired by early Knife songs & 80's Depeche Mode bass-lines. It's a bit of fun really, I wanted to explore my love for synths again!”. Whilst between albums with her band Newdad, singer/songwriter Julie Dawson teamed up with electronic producer Jack Hamill (aka, Space Dimension Controller) to work on an alternative output that sees her bring her expansive sonic soundscapes to life across a whole new dimension of sound. With the forthcoming album's theme revolving around escapism, the record's title track gives us further insight to what lays ahead as its swirling electronics and plinky synth notes lead the way to Dawson's crystalline vocals. Emerging with his debut single, Altara bursts on to the scene with the scintillating effort, Somebody To Lose. Written about changing the perspective on falling too deeply for someone, the track's pulsating electronic backdrop keeps things in check with towering pop sensibilities and soaring vocals. Sharing more, Altara explained: "When I find myself falling for someone, I get very in my own head & can make everything too heavy. I wanted to write something that made light of that, I wanted to show myself that catching feelings doesn't have to be deep & over the top, it can be fun, easy & even embarrassing in the best way. Returning ahead of the weekend, London-based duo Arliston have shared their emotively charged new single Vertical. Taken from their forthcoming album Disappointment Machine, the track sees the pair shift pace between its soft palpable vocals and dazzling electronic melodies that rise to dizzying heights amongst a rousing crescendo. Speaking about the track, George recalls: “We had a lot of fun making this one, the drums initially started as a chopped up sample and then Sam (Catchpole) came in to re-play them and really made them sing and basically turned them into a lead drum part in the chorus. It’s a lot of fun to play live as it’s got a sort of anthemic energy to it and a guitar solo which sounds very un-arliston on paper, but I think it fits perfectly on the album and rounds the project out adding an energy that would otherwise be missing.” Jack reflects on the songwriting process behind ‘Vertical’: “I had in mind a character simply looking for something- keys or a wallet- in a crumpled pair of jeans on the floor. I have a habit of forgetting where things are and I wanted a song that could reflect that hazy absent mindedness. I also wanted to get across a sense of “if I can’t do even these basic things, how am I meant to ‘carry on’ and do more complex things”. This is where the title ‘Vertical’ comes from, as when I’m in that empty-minded state everything seems daunting, impossible and vertical.” Take a listen for yourselves below.

The world is spinning so fast and you are just stopped, floating in a dream wishing you were with this person. Following on from filling out arenas and playing shows with the likes of Franz Ferdinand and The xx in their home of Indonesia, Elephant Kind have been searching further afield to broaden their international fanbase. With a move to London, the outfit have returned with their scintillating new single Louder, a three minute pop effort that transcends far beyond its reaches with towering choruses and catchy melodies. Written solely by Elephant Kind - consisting of Bam Mastro (vocals), Bayu Adisapoetra (drums) and Kevin Septanto (bass) - the band’s collaborators on ‘Louder’ further underline their momentum. The track was produced by Iain Berryman (beabadoobee, Wolf Alice, Young Fathers) and was mixed by the Grammy-winning Oli Jacobs (Harry Styles, The 1975, Taylor Swift). Bam says of the track, “The chorus of ‘Louder’ might make it seem like a part anthem at first glance, but is actually an intimate experience of observing separation from the sidelines and complexities of being caught in the crossfire of separation. Coinciding with the announcement of their debut album From Memory, Released 26th July, electronic duo Clothing have today unveiled their brilliant new single Still Point. Collaborating with American multi-instrumentalist and vocalist L'Rain, the track's warming lilt offers a further exciting introduction to what lays ahead as it's smooth vocals and fluctuating melodies bring forth their multi-dimensional sound. As Sterling explains, “‘Still Point’ is a song about love and devotion, and the fear of losing those things. It is a banal, cruel fact that love is so self-evidently what life is about, yet it opens us up to visitations from the worst horrors imaginable. There are so many ways to lose something irreplaceable: breakup, serious illness, plane crash…Any time I’m reminded of this, I fill with terror: ‘It’s a long way down to the bottom now.’” “After we heard L’Rain’s beautiful performance, we went back and rearranged the chorus to give her voice even more space,” says Israni. “That’s how we ended up with such a bare, almost solemn first chorus compared to the more ecstatic second. Serving up another pristine pop production, Porij have returned with their latest UK Garage inspired single "Unpredictable", taken from their debut album Teething, set for release April 26 on Play It Again Sam Records (Nation Of Language, Editors and Lykke Li). On the new single, Porij say: "These lyrics came from a poem I wrote in November. It was fairly bleak, but in essence was all about missing the simplicity of my early life but craving the complexity of the life that could come. In that period of time everything felt quite up and down and I didn’t really know how I was going to feel from one day to the next." Sharing further insight on the single's kaleidoscopic accompanying video, director Maxi McLachlan comments: "It’s weird to say my main point of reference was video game character building menus, but that’s where it started! The point was to try and create a video where Egg is constantly rotating but their clothes transform until it becomes so extreme that they warp into other band members. When we first discussed the video we knew we wanted it to reflect the chaotic but very carefully produced track. I wanted to create the feeling that Porij becomes so unpredictable that not even the machines can handle it and the whole thing shatters." Premiering on BBC Radio 1 with Clara Amfo, 19-year old Manchester based artist DellaXOZ returns with the stunning new single BORING. Anything but its namesake, the track's kaleidoscopic melodies and pulsating electronics showcase an important shift in her process, as her first release to be created collaboratively in a studio working with Mack Jamieson. Speaking further on ‘BORING,’ DellaXOZ reveals; “BORING” to me is like an anthem that inspires you to celebrate your breakups rather than cry about them. I’ve written hundreds of unreleased songs about relationships ending and even blaming myself, sometimes for things I’m not even at fault for. I think a lot of people, specifically girls in my generation, relate to doing that whole negative self-talk thing and clinging onto dead situations that don’t serve us, which inspired me to write this pro-breakup song. ‘BORING’ celebrates leaving relationships that have no emotional benefit and ending repetitive cycles of heartbreak as they're ultimately just boring.” Listen for yourselves below.

Here we have the first lustrous fruits of his labour under moniker Swim Club. Filled with buoyant synths and catchy melodies, Hercules delivers a melding of soft acoustics elements and forward thinking electronica to bring home an infectious pop masterpiece. Speaking about the new single, he goes on to say "’Hercules’ is about the rise and fall of the heroes of our lives. To see that rock-solid person, who was always strong like an ancient Greek hero and wise like a god to you, struggle to get back up. It’s also a song about preserving good relations while the world is changing and seemingly nothing is what it used to be." ‘Hercules’ will be followed up by a debut-EP out on May 26th.
