Talkboy - Over & Under

Having taken a few days off from the endless and often self-defeating search for new music, Leeds-based outfit Talkboy inject a much needed boost of rival that was required. Following on from their previously shared single Mother, the band unveil a sound that's bigger than ever before with punchy kicks and dazzling melodies that scatter across its effervescent backdrop. "It’s no secret that we all like a good party in Talkboy but personally, I increasingly get the feeling that I should be having way more fun than I am or that I should be way closer to the people around me than I am" explains guitarist Tim Malkin. "I think that a lot of people go through the motions at social gatherings, to try and keep up appearances or whatever, whereas if they just let go of that kind of stuff they might have more meaningful relationships".There's a lot going on amongst the track's fruitful layering but their art for slotting everything in to place seamlessly is pulled off to enraptured effect. Take a listen for yourselves below.
