Waves of Dread - Lay

Taken from their recently released self-titled debut EP, Waves of Dread today return with an official video to their current single Lay. Shot on a summer-trip to Barcelona, whilst emulating an almost post-apocalyptic vision, the video's candid approach brings through a unique warmth in the Newcastle-based trio's sound. Likened to My Bloody Valentine and Ride, their hazy vocals and 90's-influenced slacker vibe deliver nostalgia and authenticity that would be hard to replicate. Singer Nick JH goes on to explain "Barcelona is a city I hold close to my heart. I’ve been lucky in recent years to share some truly wonderful times there with people I love. It’s unfortunate that these memories can become tainted. However, my yearning to return to the place I consider my second home will always be strong. I will continue to make memories there. Lay is my love song to the city". Take a listen/watch for yourselves below.

Waves of Dread are Nick JH, Robert Anthony and Jakko.
