Sŵn Festival announces first wave of artists for 2019

At a time where venues are closing before our eyes at such an alarming rate, Cardiff far from immune following the sad and abrupt parting of Buffalo and Gwdihŵ, it's an amazing feat to see Swn Festival still rising strong. Now in its 13th year, proving far from unlucky, the festival today announces its impressive first wave of acts - and what a mighty fine plethora of band's and artists there are to tuck in to - many who have featured the pages here over the years. From big favourites Bloxx, Kidsmoke and The Howl & The Hum, I'll be most excited to see Scottish rockers We Were Promised Jetpacks. A band I've missed out on seeing for countless years. That aside, the festivals continued support of up and coming artists and Welsh homegrown talent results in plenty more first timers to tick off my lists.
Guto Brychan, Chief Executive of Clwb Ifor Bach said: “Taking on Sŵn last year was the first time Clwb had put on an event of its type. This year, we’re taking it back to its originality and keeping it to the weekend with three full days of the best music and performances. No headline acts, just great artists at all levels around the city.  So far, 2019 looks promising for the Cardiff music scene, with the new music strategy coming in to place we should see the music potential reach new heights and it’s great that both Clwb and Sŵn will be a part of that."
Be sure to check out the full announcement below, still with plenty more to come.
