Live Review: Vistas, Clwb Ifor Bach Cardiff 15/05/2023

Vistas Live Cardiff Clwb Ifor Bach

Vistas have come a long way since I last caught the tail end of their set supporting Courteeners a few years ago. With two albums now under their belts alongside a string of EP's and singles, the band have continued to build up their strong following, evident tonight as the sold out Clwb Ifor Bach patiently awaited their arrival.

Suitably warmed up following a promising support show by Matthew Hall, the band emerged and wasted no time jumping straight in to their high strung indie guitar anthems.

Despite just being an hour in length, the Scottish outfit's short snappy tunes come aplenty as they charged through their high energy set-list. From their latest EP's opener One More Night With No One which kick started proceedings, to their older material including Calm and Tigerblood, the band never faltered as the energy inside reached a climax.

With their new material sounding equally at home amongst their signature euphoric sound, the band have clearly carved a niche for themselves and their music truly comes to light in a live setting.

In a whirlwind of guitar swinging, infectious melody driven sounds, there was no time for an encore, which actually made a nice change from band's going off just for the sake of coming back on 2 minutes later. Instead Vistas show just what's achievable in an all thriller no filler set-list.
