It's scary to say next month is October already. The only silver lining being CMAT will return with her highly-anticipated and deeply personal second album ‘Crazymad, For Me’, due on October 13th 2023. As we eagerly await its release, she returns with the record's latest cut, Stay For Something, debuted as a Hottest Record In The World on Clara Amfo’s BBC Radio 1 show last night. With huge towering pop choruses, insanely intelligent vocal quips and some of the catchiest melodies in the business, Stay For Something is another example of pure pop brilliance, reaching climatic highs as it builds towards it's finale. Speaking about the track CMAT goes on to say, “It's basically just about questioning why I stayed / suffered in a bad relationship for as long as i did. trying to desperately find some kind of meaning in the mess and then being embarrassed when i remember the good parts. It's not very lyrical or poetic, it's just a lot of emotion and energy - this song, to me, sounds like going for a run at 1am with your headphones on full blast, screaming through the streets in order to get away from your problems. i hope that at least one person does that when they hear it.” Take a listen for yourselves below.
