Fat Dog - I am the King (Official Video)

Some of the greatest things in life have happened in a Weatherspoons toilet. And it just so happens to be the birth place of Fat Dog's latest single I am the king. "It was written in the toilets of the Wetherspoons pub in Forest Hill," says frontman Joe Love, thereby ensuring the pub will one day get a blue plaque. “It was after I got broken up with.” From such a dark place has come a soaring orchestral synth masterpiece that's soaked in emotional toil showcasing a further side to the band. But it wouldn't be Fat Dog without some avant-garde thrown in for good measure. From the lyrics "if you think I'm crying for you, I ain't crying for you, I just watched Karate Kid 2", to the no expense spared video that sees frontman Joe parachute out of a helicopter to the amazement of his bandmates mourning his grave, it really does have it all. Check out the Dylan Coates and Travis Barton directed clip below.

Fat Dog have confirmed a string of instore shows in September to launch the album. Tickets on sale now from here. The band's debit album WOOF is out on Domino Records September 6th 2024.
