Rianne Downey recently shared the title track from her upcoming debut album The Consequence of Love which comes out October 17th on Run On. “From busking on the streets of Glasgow to releasing this record, it almost feels like my whole life has led to this moment,” she says. “The title, ‘The Consequence of Love’, came from one of the last songs I wrote but it captures the heart of the whole album. Each song is the product of the consequence of love.” After watching her gran slowly lose the battle with dementia she goes on to say, “It’s a reflection on the fragile nature of life and love, I think naturally as people, we often hold onto a childlike belief that the ones we love will always be there, and it’s a painful realisation when life reminds us otherwise.” Take a listen for yourselves below.
