Manchester-based quartet Westside Cowboy have today announced their debut EP ‘This Better Be Something Great’ (pre-order vinyl here), set for release August 8th via Nice Swan Recordings / Heist or Hit. Coinciding with the news, the band have unveiled their brand new track 'Alright Alright Alright' following its premier on Huw Stephens' BBC 6 Music show. Picking up where ‘I’ve Never Met Anyone I Thought I Could Really Love (Until I Met You)’ and 'Shells' left off, it's another glorious effort that sees frantic melodies meet high-energy rhythms in blistering detail. The new track expands on their sonic palette whilst remaining true to the raw emotional urgency that defined their earlier work as guitars shimmer and crackle with restless energy, while layered vocals dive between vulnerability and defiance. Speaking ahead of its release, the group stated: “This song was the first original thing we ever played as a band, before we had any real ambition for the project to reach the ears of anyone outside of that room. It is a punk song about a cowboy, and if anyone can take away any more from it than that, consider us impressed.” Take a listen for yourselves below.
Westside Cowboy is Reuben Haycocks (guitar, vocals), James (Jimmy) Bradbury (guitar, vocals), Aoife Anson O’Connell (bass guitar, vocals), Paddy Murphy (drums).
