As Gordi readies the release of her forthcoming album Like Plasticine, due out 8th August, the Australian indie-pop singer, songwriter and producer has shared one final taste of the record with the John Congleton co-produced ‘Head Rush’. With its dancefloor ready beat and soaring vocal sections it offers another exciting teaser of what's to come as she extends between genres to form a pulsating pop masterpiece. "I was sitting at my friend, Sarah's, Wurlitzer in Los Angeles, playing the same thing over and over again and then Head Rush arrived" explains Gordi. "It was one of those songs that came in a flurry of words out of my mouth quicker than I could write them down. I was thinking about New York, a place where I've spent a lot of time over the years, where my friend used to live in a rundown place on Division St. Head Rush is about how everything comes to an end eventually. About having to grow up before you're ready. That transition from reckless ecstasy to stability. From chaos to plans.“I finished this song with John Congleton in LA - we worked at a feverish pace, which was a perfect match for the energy of the song.
