she's green - close your eyes (Official)

Credit: Liam Armstrong

Minneapolis five-piece she's green have recently shared their new single close your eyes. At seven minutes, the track drifts through expansive cosmic landscapes, weaving together swirling synth melodies, elongated guitars, and shimmering vocals before arriving at its climactic finale. Speaking about the track in more detail, lead vocalist Zofia Smith explains: “‘close your eyes’ is about a mystery person who kept reoccurring in my dreams. In those dreams, we shared a life together by the ocean. Waking up and realizing they weren’t real left a lasting impression on me, leaving me wondering about our connection to our dreams, how my mind could have created this person, or if I knew them in a past life.” Take a listen below.

Naarm/Melbourne based outfit Radio Free Alice have returned with their glistening new single ‘Lunch Money’, coinciding with the news of signing to Atlantic Records. Written on the road at a sound-check in Nottingham while Radio Free Alice toured the UK last year, the track thrives on its restless momentum, pairing soaring guitar work with the vibrant energy that has become synonymous with the band’s sound. “It was the back end of the tour and it had started getting really cold,” frontman Noah Learmonth says. “I remember us writing it on the stage at the empty venue, all with jackets, scarves and gloves on. It was one of those songs that came together pretty instantly.” Take a listen below.

Wynd - The Shores

Danish indie-folk newcomer Wynd marks his exceptional entrance through new single The Shores. Recorded on a weathered 4-track cassette recorder, its tender approach feeds in to its soft nuances as luscious guitar melodies envelop his sound. Speaking about the track he goes on to share, “Love is memory, nostalgia and reflection-especially when it’s gone. ‘The Shores’ captures the urge to reach out, the hope that you might find your way back to each other. But within that hope lies the realization that it can be just as painful and destructive as the longing itself. There’s a bittersweet sense of optimism in watching the waves reshape the shore-how things fade, and how time eventually heals.” Take a listen for yourselves below.

Tokyo Tea Room - Eyes Off You

Margate’s Tokyo Tea Room have recently returned sharing their shimmering new single ‘Eyes Off You’, released via French tastemaker label Nice Guys. Filled with hypnotic electronic elements, soft vocals and catchy guitar riffs the track serves as an exciting introduction to the band. “As the title suggests ‘Eyes Off You’ is a song about desire and the people who linger around in your thoughts,” guitarist/songwriter Dan Elliott says of the track. “I try to capture those fleeting moments of connection and evoke a sense of nostalgia, like a crystalised memory. Although the sense of longing is obvious, the song is really driven by optimism and anticipation, mirroring a period of personal renewal and looking forward, after a time of reflection”.

‘Eyes Off You’ arrives with a video directed by Jacek Zmarz and featuring the dancer Anders Hayward. Jacek shares, "Quite early on we decided that we wanted to make a connection between the subject of the track and the beauty of the natural world, and the idea of being so in awe of something that you’re seeing that it shoots a surge of energy through your body, and through your mind. To get the most out of the landscapes we shot completely in natural light, our movements as a crew were kind of mirroring Anders in the video as we were moving with the light, allowing the natural environment to guide us as to what comes next.” Take a listen/watch below.

Sŵn Festival announces first names for 2026 edition

Fast approaching nearly two decades of new music discovery, Cardiff's inaugural Sŵn Festival makes its very welcomed return to the city this October for its impressive 19th edition. A long-established household name, and firm calendar favourite amongst music fans and those keen to get in early on the next hype, the festival's continued support, drive and passion for new music shows no signs of slowing with its strongest line-up to date.

Taking place Thursday October 15th to Saturday October 17th the festival will welcome Irish modern folk artist Dove Ellis alongside Cork quintet Cardinals, London contemporary artist Bel Cobain and ex-porridge radio singer Dana Margolin. Elsewhere, Yorkshire synth-pop-punk outfit Working Men’s Club will take their vibrant sound to the stage, with Manchester trio The Orielles making their return to the capital with a fresh album in tow.

It also wouldn't be Sŵn without its showcase of local talent, and this year is no exception. Whether you’re after something atmospheric, energetic or downright intense, there’s plenty to discover. Cerys Hafana continues to push folk music into fascinating new territory, while ifan’s genre-blurring sound feels both intimate and inventive. For a dose of fuzzy guitars and feel-good energy, Pys Melyn are always a reliable choice with Wrkhouse quickly making a name for themselves with catchy bilingual alt-pop.

A full list of acts playing across the weekend can be found below..... with plenty more to come.

Sŵn 2026 is once more multi-venue across all three days of programming. Venues this year include: Tramshed, Clwb Ifor Bach, St. John’s Church, Jacobs Basement, Fuel, The Canopi, Tiny Rebel, Little O’Neill’s and Porter’s.

Adam Williams, Head of Music for Sŵn, offers the following on this year’s festival: “Whilst we live in a world that surrounds us with negativity, it's been extremely uplifting to work on Sŵn’s 19th edition. 2026's lineup is filled with incredible new music. We have the pleasure of welcoming Dove Ellis to Cardiff for the first time who will be performing a special guest spot over at Tramshed. Other Cardiff first-timers come in the form of Cardinals, Lucia & the Best Boys, Theatre, Bathing Suits, 2charm, Lauren Auder, Shaking Hand plus dozens of others, as well as much anticipated returning artists including Working Mens Club, HMLTD and Porridge Radio's Dana Margolin who come loaded with new music.

Sŵn Festival remains as accessible and community-focused as ever - once again offering a wide array of schemes to make tickets as widely available as possible and to offer in-roads into the festival. Payment plans for tickets are available as well as concession tickets for young people, students and Blue Light account holders, while volunteer programmes and the apply to play scheme will also return. Sign up to the mailing list to be notified about when applications open.

Tickets for Sŵn are on general sale now with instalment plans available. Head here for ticketing options and more info: https://swnfest.seetickets.com
