Swim Deep celebrate 10 year anniversary of debut album 'Where The Heaven Are We'

It's huge to think that it's been 10 years already since Birmingham native's Swim Deep released their debut album 'Where The Heaven Are We'. A lot has changed in that time. The world is a far different place. Yet, the record? It still stands the test of time after becoming a pinnacle of slacker indie pop, paving the way to firmly establishing the Midlands scene, opening the door for band's like Peace and Jaws et al. "Where the heaven are we now? was this a question i expected myself to answer 10 years down the line?" says Austin Williams, "because when i look back on the 10 years since we released wthaw, i’m watery eyed in awe at how many of our dreams morphed into reality. We skipped out of town in battered converse and crop tops, and somehow ended up playing our music in far away lands we couldn’t even find on the map in geography class just 2 years prior. There was kids on tumblr from american colleges with the wave logo sketched on their back packs, kids from the midlands starting bands inspired by what we were doing… things that affirmed life on earth to me. I am gushingly proud of this record on its 10th birthday, we all are. it taught me that hard work and belief made my classroom day dreams possible. i now can’t wait to celebrate this record with rooms full of the same people who have been the reason this all happened in the first place ≈"

The 10 year anniversary vinyl re-issue of 'Where The Heaven Are We' will be released 28th April via Blood Records available to pre-order here. To coincide with the news the band will head out on the road at the below dates with tickets available here
