Chalk - Can't Feel It (Official Video)

Belfast post-punk/electronic outfit Chalk have this week shared their electrifying new single Can't Feel It, following its BBC 6 Music Huw Stephens premiere last night. The single follows on from their release in August, Pain, with dazzling synth lines and explosive choruses. Speaking ahead of its release, Cullen explained: “We wanted to write a dance track that celebrated the ups and downs of youth. It’s about a secret first kiss I had with a friend when I was younger, and reminiscing on the euphoria of that — but also the excitement of keeping something hidden from everyone around me, which in the end led to feelings of solitude and alienation.” Detailing the accompanying visuals, the band explained: “‘Can’t Feel It’ is a song about sensuality, yearning, and desire. I wanted to set this story in a medieval world of courtly love and rivalry, merging mythic imagery with modern elements like smartphones and earpods. The result is a music video that reflects the tension between repression and release, tradition and experimentation.” Take a watch/listen below.
