This week sees the brilliant Blood Wizard return with his new single, BEE STING. Following on from his second album, released last year, Cai Burns is joined alongside longtime collaborator Faye Rita Robinson, and bandmates Adrian Vitelleschi and Sebastian Bluestone. The track sees fuzzy guitar layers and intricate melodies tell the tale of growing up and hazy memories of being a kid. On the new single, Blood Wizard says: “Bee Sting is a bittersweet song about the messy and light-hearted parts of growing up. It’s about being afraid of insects, astral projecting, and being a reckless little angel. It pulls from these vivid, weird memories of being a kid, mixed in with things I probably made up after hearing stories about myself. Looking back feels kind of dizzy and unreal - it’s hard to tell what’s true and what’s fantasy - and I wanted to make something that felt like that. Familiar, but fuzzy and warped, like a broken memory.” Take a listen below.
