It's no real secret I've been yearning for a new guitar act for months now. Whilst that pool seems to have long dried up with the unfathomable amount of bland synth-pop acts I trawl through daily, new kids on the block EAT look ready to burst the dam and re-flood that avenue with their stunning debut Byker Drone. Whilst not much is known about them as yet, one thing's for certain, their hazy vocals and reverberated sound brings a much needed breath of fresh air to my airwaves. Fuzzy, warm dream-like guitar pop at its very best. Take a listen below.

Whilst gigging in Cardiff has taken a monumental turn for the better in recent years (I still remember the days of trudging to Bristol and further afield to see the nearest decent band), it looks like their music scene's following hotly in suite as Chain Of Flowers look set to next join the ranks. Returning with their new single Crisis, the band's grittiness and post-punk edge perfectly captures their blisteringly powerful vision as guitars rattle down over its hazy shoegazing backdrop. Consistently refining their heaven-like sound, Kid Wave return with their dreamy new single Wonderlust. Showcasing a refined confidence in delivery, the London based group bring plenty more scuzzy guitars and jangly melodies to the forefront as the track builds in to a swirling masterpiece amongst skippy percussion and shoegazey vocals. Throwing you head-first in to its tunnel of lofty rhythms and wondrous instrumentation, the band's latest effort serves as the perfect appetiser for their forthcoming as yet unannounced debut LP. Them lovely chaps over at Labrador have sure put out some fine records over the years. If I recall they were one of the very first labels to pique my interests when I first started blogging many moons ago through The Radio Dept and Acid House Kings. And this week proved to be no different as the championed label released the The Mary Onettes brand new album 'Portico' along with a shiny fresh video to their single Naive Dream. Complimenting the tracks dazed sun-kissed textures the Philip Ekström and Henrik Ekström directed clip serves to be the perfect companion to the tracks boundless shoegaze melodies as the Swedish four-piece channel a Wild Nothing approach in their seductive song structuring. Even though I spend most of my gig going life in Bristol I rarely come across anything worthy to share on the blog. That's not to say there isn't a great music scene in Bristol (because there most certainly is), but more so to do with the lack of appealing music to my tastes. That is until The Fauns. Seven Hours is the second single to be taken from their critically acclaimed album 'Lights' that came out towards the end of last year. Whilst cloaked in a warm fuzzy haze of rattling guitars and breathy vocals the south west five-piece manage to cultivate a charming desire through their slow-burning and euphorically rising peaks. Seven Hours truly creates light in the darkest of situations as it exerts rays of colourful quintessential class.
