Dive into their psychedelic offering below.

Waterpistol are: Harry Watton (Vocals and Percussion), Rhea Padua (Vocals), Aaron Tormey (Guitar and Vocals), Carwyn Whiteman (Guitar and Vocals), Emma Way (Bass), Efan Watkins (Drums)

Group A.D. - Colour Space Transform (Official Music Video)

Ahead of the release of their debut EP Colour Space Transform on March 27th, Leeds-based project Group A.D. - a name set to feature heavily as the year unfolds - have shared the EP’s title track. Premiered by Lauren Laverne on BBC 6Music the experimental outfit conjure up expansive, cinematic soundscapes, all neatly bound together by their ingenious melodies and orchestral brilliance. On the new single, Aidan from the band says: "There is no greater frontier than the one in the rear view mirror’ is the opening lyric to ‘Colour Space Transform’ and one that encapsulates its message. There’s a great joy in paying homage to different eras of music, and this is a song of two worlds- the sixties and the eighties, two musical eras in both in style and production. In the words of the electronic pioneer Daphne Oram, we’re ‘looking back…to see ahead.’When writing the song, I started with a sample of an old French soul track. The string part was written around that, and then I removed the sample- the act of taking it away seemed to give the strings a yearning, cinematic feel- a waxing and waning which became the core of ‘Colour Space Transform’. It felt right to bring that string refrain into full bloom at the end of the song- like the closing credits of some strange television film..." Take a listen below as the band share the track's kaleidoscopic video.

UK Tour Dates
28th March - YES, Manchester
5th September - Manchester Psych Fest

Keys - What Flavour?

Photo: Trigger Happy Creative

With its towering psychedelic melodies and kaleidoscopic rhythms, Welsh outfit Keys contemplate one of life's many difficult choices on their latest single, What Flavour?. Inspired following a trip to the seaside with his daughter, Frontman Matthew Evans headed back to the studio packed with the fruitful idea, and the result serves as a bold, guitar driven dazzler. Speaking about it in more detail he goes on to say, “‘What Flavour?’ began with something my daughter said while staring at the endless choices at an ice cream stand on holiday in Tenby. We instinctively sang it back to her, and before long, it snowballed into a full-blown song. As it unfolds, the track grows more agitated, from playful indecision into the agony of craving what someone else has. We’d been deep into disco and 99 Records bands at the time, so everything came out upside down. It doesn’t sound like anything we’ve done before, and that’s exactly why we love it.” Take a listen below.

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets - Keen For Kick Ons?

Photo: Sam Hesketh

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets - Keen For Kick Ons?

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. Probably the most bizarre band name I've come across in recent months. It certainly stands out - Not that they require any additional theatrics when their music's this good. Returning with their latest single, Keen For Kick Ons?, the band deliver a huge guitar heavy anthem filled with twists and turns at each and every corner. Think, Tame Impala mixed with a heavy side helping of Temples. "Keen For Kick Ons? is about those fruitful days working at a pub", explains singer Jack McEwan. "I got fired for getting trollied at an open mic night trying to sing Queen. It seemed like a good premise for a track so I weaved in this narrative of a purple haired French girl who spoke in blotted English but wanted to head out after the bar closed. It's a mix of tour life and reminiscing about my days at Indi Bar, good times." Take a listen for yourselves below.

Misun | Penny

Following on from their previous single, Superstitions, LA via DC collective Misun return with their latest track, Penny. Showcasing a true diversity in their production skills they've toned back the synths and experimental vibe to deliver a gloriously profound psychedelic charmer as jangly guitars rattle amongst its raw and echoing sound. Showing off their 60's influences in fine style Penny offers a wonderful insight in to the band as their polyamorous stylistics show no signs of slowing down - and that's just the way we like it!
