Today sees Kneecap unveil their music video for “Sayōnara,” a new song made in collaboration with Orbital’s Paul Hartnoll. The track comes accompanied by an official video directed by Finn Keenan and features Derry Girls actor Jamie Lee O’Donnell. Talking about appearing in the video, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell said: "I had the best time filming the ‘Sayōnara’ music video. Not only is it a massive banger of a track but the intense yet euphoric video is sure to be remembered. The creativity and vision of director, Finn, created a fantastic environment for us all to create something really special. I was delighted to have been asked to be involved in this project especially as I am already a huge fan of Kneecap's music and an admirer of their work overall". Having digitally released ‘Sayōnara’ today, the track will also be available as double A-sided 12” alongside their Kemi Badenoch baiting summer anthem, ‘THE RECAP’, on which the West Belfast trio collaborated with drum & bass producer Mozey (courtesy of Rinse). Loyle Carner has today announced details of his brand new album hopefully !, which is set for release on Island EMI on June 20th. The news follows his recent new singles, ‘all i need / in my mind’ which sees him embark on an exciting new chapter in his illustrious career. In a series of firsts - singing, producing, accidentally forming the band of his dreams - Loyle Carner cultivates healthier boundaries, whilst also allowing his audience in (the album’s moving artwork features his muse of a son, who can also be heard throughout the record). This week sees Chiedu Oraka unveil his brand new single 'Mayne', the first release to come from his signing with new EMI North partner Launchpad+. With its deep bassline and grime influence, the track serves as a true testament to the London scene as he steps up the game with ice cold lyrics and a flow unmatched. Speaking on the inspiration for the track, Oraka shares: "It sets the picture perfectly for this newfound energy I have running through my body. With 'Mayne', I wanted to go back to that feeling of when I fell in love with music, that old-school West Coast hip-hop sound with fun lyrics. Every High is the first taste of music I've had from Australian, now Berlin based producer/vocalist/composer and all-round wunderkind Kyson. His music is soft yet potent, doused in laid back electronica with an emotive kick in its tail.The artist's latest single delivers a wonderful insight in to his workings through choppy hip-hop influenced samples and folk  delivered etherealness. Speaking about the single he shares the following: "I wanted to write a song about overcoming the feeling or need we have as individuals to modify ourselves and our personalities to please others in our daily lives… about how honesty and trust can help overcome this pressure of pleasing, and the journey of finding the way towards both of these emotions." On a rare Friday night that I find myself at a computer with a few hours to spare, it makes sense to trawl through my blog emails, although, I wasn't quite so prepared for a discovery of such quality. His debut offering, bedroom-producer Kevin George makes his bold first steps in to our world with the stunningly thought out single High Like This. Speaking on the track Kevin George says: "High Like This came to me during a dark time in my life .. It felt like my world was closing in on me . This girl turned me down & that's what came out ". Whilst the original Bloodsport came out almost 3 years ago on an early EP, it's re-vamped 2015 version with added strings courtesy of Rosie Danvers and Wired Strings still sounds as fresh as ever. I guess that says a lot about Raleigh Ritchie in itself. Ahead of himself and the game from his very first steps in to the musical world, this return sparks an exciting time ahead as he looks to follow up recent single The Greatest alongside performing with George Ezra on tour with his debut album due later this Autumn. Seeing out a pretty wonderful 2013 with his second album 'Some Say I So I Say Light', Ghostpoet makes a very welcomed return in 2015 with his third full length LP entitled 'Shedding Skin'. Off Peak Dreams is the first single to be lifted from it and sees Obaro Ejimiwe take to recording in a live set up for the very first time. It's distinctly Ghostpoet yet something about this new direction feels brighter. There's a more optimistic outlook as Ejimiwe drags us from our falsely created world in to the begrudging reality with his unique lyricism and off-kilter percussion. Take a listen above.
